Sandrina’s journey in developing her creative ideas was thanks to an inspiring course at Hereford Art College. In particular a workshop at the Blacksmith’s department.
To develop her skills, she then spent a year in the small metals department at Hereford College. This is where her passion for copper and fire began.
She began to love working with shiny flat copper and using a hammer and fire to turn it into a three dimensional form.
Her inspiration comes from studying nature, frequently uses stone and gnarled wood to complete her outdoor sculptures.
She also uses an ancient Japanese technique called Shousugiban, this technique blackens the wood and helps preserve it.
She also enjoys adding copper embellishment to bowls and boxes.
Each piece created is unique.
