Next Event

Drawing for Beginners with Annie Kemp - 1 July 2026 - 10:30 - 12:30

See All

Description

Come and learn the visual language of drawing. This course is designed for the complete beginner, but would also be suitable for anyone with experience wishing to improve their skills, as it may offer a new approach to their drawing.
The main objective of the course is to teach you how to draw through learning how to see. Responding to what your eyes are telling you, and moving away from the restrictive mechanisms of the logical patterns of thought. Thus allowing for the more intuitive, fluid and creative thinking process to come forward.
This course of 8 sessions will be structured through a series of exercises and techniques , each of which will be the focus of a particular lesson. It will be designed to help promote an understanding of drawing. In it’s most basic terms, how to translate three dimensional subject and form onto a two dimensional format.
As you develop your own style, your confidence will grow and you will become proficient in all aspects within the medium of drawing.
